Throughout my life, I've always been in motion in some way. From childhood, sports formed an integral part of my daily life; I participated in triathlons, speed skating, then volleyball, and through sports, the world opened up to me. I had the fortune to travel and discover different landscapes, cultures, and lifestyles.
The third pillar that has always supported me was creation in any form. I was fascinated by accidentally smudged papers, coffee stains on napkins, and all kinds of conscious or less conscious ways of creating.
I studied architectural art, but I always found it much more exciting to see how different artistic fields can connect and together create something new and valuable. So in recent years, I've spent my time not primarily as an architect, but creating and teaching at the intersections of architecture, graphic design, fine arts, and education.
Since 2015, my life has also been connected to Ladakh, India, where I spend my summers; I connect with this world in a deep, intangible way – with the Himalayan mountains, the atmosphere, the feeling that I've come home.
Yoga also seeped into my life similarly unnoticed, though interestingly, I didn't first encounter it in India, but when I was looking for a new form of movement after competitive sports. At first, I came down the Bandha stairs nervously, and after morning practices, I would just sit and drink tea in the lobby, doodling in the notebook I always carried with me. And just as creating was as natural as breathing, breath through yoga also became part of everyday life, where I once again felt that I had found a home.
For me, Ashtanga yoga is a path of discovery and development, where movement attuned to breath is both a challenge and a comfort, a safe space where day by day I can discover my limits, put them in a new perspective, and where the three pillars in my life (movement, creation, travel) meet and provide the most reliable support.
I am grateful to be and develop in such an authentic and supportive environment – and I wholeheartedly recommend this path to anyone who is searching for themselves.
