Yoga is 99% practice and 1% theory

K. Pattabhi Jois's famous saying points out that it's not possible to understand the essence of Ashtanga yoga merely by reading books. This branch of yoga is an experiential path that must be discovered through practice. This path can be supported (1%) by studying scriptures - Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, as well as works born from the personal experiences of recognized ancient yoga practitioners. For acquiring the theoretical knowledge necessary for practicing yoga, we recommend the following readings.
